Phytophilia
My new work is called “Phytophilia” which means “love for plants”.
The inspiration is drawn from the miracle of life, the cycle of growth, bloom and
decay and the imagination to turn through my jewelry bodies or hands into small landscapes and gardens.
The pieces are modelled in wax an I explore the potential of the material, by
kneading, dripping, fusing and melting. The wax models are then converted into
metal by the technique of “lost wax casting“, so all the pieces are unique and the
mold they were casted in will be lost for ever.
Since 2011 I work with fair trade gold, silver and gemstones because protecting the
environment, fair trade and sustainability are topics to me and my concept of jewelry making.
